Thought you all might like to read a nice review of one of the latest shows on the John Prine tour by our good friends over at Pop Matters. One of our office favorites, Josh Ritter, opened the show and did "Paradise" with John at the end of the night. All in all, sounds like it was a great show.

The true story of 'Go Cubs Go!'
Here is an article from the L.A. Times about the back story to the recording of Steve Goodman's baseball hit, "Go Cubs Go". There have been a number of articles that have gone into the beginnings of the song, but Patrick Goldstein, author of the piece, actually talks to Hank Neuberger, one of the engineers and producers for the song. In it, he recounts how the song came about and some of the players involved. Here's one of our favorite quotes from the Hank:
"But the most timeless aspect of this record, the secret ingredient that makes it work as well today as back in ’84, is simply Steve’s magical voice. You can’t hear Steve Goodman’s voice without hearing the smile and joy inside it. The very sound of Steve’s delivery expresses what every Cub fan at the ballpark feels -- that there’s no place on Earth today we’d rather be than right here at Wrigley Field."
Couldn't have said it better ourselves. Big game tonight folks. First pitch is at 8:37 CST, so make sure you're in front of a massive TV and remember, "Go Cubs Go"...
